The auditorium of the City Hall with the capacity of 200 people, was nearly too small to receive all those interested in the new documentary movies and the life in Serbia they portray.
Among visitors, many of them distinguished members of the Serbian community in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area, was His Excellency Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia Ivan Vujacic.

RAS members, with the chairman of the Council of the District of Columbia Vincent Gray
The festival also hosted those with professional ties to Serbia – journalists, analysts, members of the U.S. Congress as well as people close to the candidates on the last presidential elections.
And even though the majority of the visitors were of the Serbian origin, this event reflected the cosmopolitan character of Washington as those interested in the life in Serbia included African Americans, Latin Americans , Poles, Romanians, Indians etc.
During a brief intermezzo, traditional Serbian dishes were served in the dining room, prepared by the Serbian women of Washington. To add to the significance of the event and to showcase the Serbian culture, the dining room was decorated with the traditional Serbian handmade artifacts.
How successful the Serbian Documentary Film Festival was, is reflected in the fact that after almost 4 hours and 10 films, the auditorium was still nearly full. This fact confermed the attractiveness, vitality, universality and the contemporary nature of the Serbian documentary films.
